From Japan to France

Niko’s journey, behind Kumo 01.

A Japanese designer who fell in love with France, Niko imagines objects where these two horizons meet. Kumo 01 is the first to take its place in that story.

Niko is a Japanese designer. His work begins by observing lines, volumes and the breathing room an object leaves around itself.

An encounter with France

After falling in love with France, he made it an anchor in his journey and developed the desire to create objects that connect his two horizons.

Kumo 01, designed in 3D

He designed Kumo 01 in 3D, curve by curve, until he found its undulating relief, white presence and the graphic contrast of its three black legs.

Kumo 01 is the first Niko Toka object: a silhouette drawn in 3D to make light a presence in its own right.
